Actress Nicole Kidman has been in the spotlight for about 36 years and it seems like she’s only getting better-looking as the years pass.
In fact, the now-52-year-old star has looked pretty much the same, figure-wise, since her debut in the early 80s seemingly aging just a few years.
So, how does she keep her fit physique so well for so long? Apparently, she does it through the most counterintuitive way possible: eating whatever she wants.
Everything in Moderation
There’s one small catch though, she consumes everything in moderation. According to the ‘Moulin Rouge’ actress, she eats a non-restrictive diet consisting of 80% healthy foods and 20% indulgent foods. She admits though that the number sometimes falls down to 70% on some days.
Kidman also mentioned using natural health remedies in an interview with Women’s Health magazine.
But in the end, she says that it’s all about finding out what works for one’s self. With the actress saying how her diet gives her a lot of energy, it looks like she’s found one that meshes well with her celebrity lifestyle.
It’s worth noting though that the actress also mentioned how she and her husband Keith Urban loves coffee. She usually gets a little energy boost by getting a cappuccino.
Australian Staples
Going into specifics, the Australian-born actress has previously mentioned enjoying some of her home country’s signature dishes.
She particularly likes fresh seafood platters consisting of lobster, mud crab, tiger prawns and Sydney rock oysters as she revealed in a 2017 article published by Food & Wine magazine.
Another thing she enjoys eating is a sausage cooked on a gas hot plate and served with white bread. This popular method of cooking is called ‘sausage sizzle’ and is a technique practiced in both Australia and New Zealand. The term also refers to community events where the dish is sold.
However, her favorite food is actually just some homemade bread served warm with Reggiano cheese. And as she shared in her episode of Vogue’s 73 Questions, her least favorite food is ham.
While Kidman loves food and will eat almost anything, she admits that she’s actually a terrible cook. As she shares, she’s tried cooking chicken for her husband but it just always turns out dry in the end.
Exercise Routine
Aside from being mindful of what she eats, the actress also keeps herself physically active with various types of exercises.
Saying how she grew up in a family who does marathons, she always thought that running long distances was just ‘totally normal’. She still runs today but supplements the activity with sessions of yoga, spinning and playing sports with her family.
The award-winning actress currently has two kids with her musician second husband. Considering that her daughters are 10 years old and 8 years old, respectively, Kidman probably does a good deal of physical activities keeping up with them.
