Celebrities lead very interesting lives but they’re just like regular people who sleep, eat, and drink. It’s just that sometimes, the random things that famous people do become more valuable given their star power.
In fact, some of them have even fetched tens of thousands of dollars. Here are some of the most bizarre celebrity possessions ever sold at auctions.
Kurt Cobain’s Pizza Plate
Nirvana is one of the most popular and influential rock bands ever. Popularizing the grunge genre and style, the three-piece group is revered by both other musicians and their legions of fans.
No wonder, people are still intrigued about the band decades after they broke up when frontman Kurt Cobain tragically died. Proof of this is the recent appearance of a used paper plate at Julien’s Auctions.
Apparently, the plate is valuable as Cobain ate pizza off of it during the night of their Washington D.C. on April 20, 1993. Written on it were the songs that the trio played for the 9:30 Club audience.
Sounds cool, right? Well, other people thought so, too. The rock artifact was recently sold for $22, 400.
Justin Timberlake’ French Toast
Here’s something that’ll make the 2000’s kids nostalgic. Remember when boy band N’Sync were the kings of the airwaves? One Direction could never.
Whether you were a fan or not, there’s no denying that its members became instant teen idols when they hit it big with Justin Timberlake being their breakout star. Given the thousands of fans that went crazy over the five-piece band, it’s not surprising to hear totally bonkers shenanigans that fans got into.
One of the most memorable ones is when an employee of the radio station Z-100 decided to ‘save’ Timberlake’s leftover French toast and sell it on eBay. It was eventually bought by superfan Kathy Summers for $1,025.
Scarlett Johansson’s Tissues
Avengers actress Scarlett Johansson first broke out into Hollywood in the mid-2000s. Known for her Old Hollywood beauty, the blonde star immediately attracting a lot of devoted fans. And as it turns out, one of them is just a little more devoted than others.
After one television guesting where the actress was shown wiping her nose due to a cold, the very same tissues turned up on eBay. The auction went up to $5,300 which was then donated to the food charity USA Harvest. This one isn’t as creepy as the other ones though as Johansson knew of the plans to sell her tissues for charity.
John Lennon’s Tooth
Before Nirvana was even a thing there was The Beatles, who, safe to say, remains to be the most influential band to ever grace the music industry. Its four members were known for their eccentric lifestyle as much as their music.
Proof of this is the story about John Lennon gifting one of his teeth to his housekeeper, Dorothy ‘Dot’ Jarlett as a souvenir. It would eventually turn up again in an auction where a dentist, Michael Zuk, purchased it for $31,200.
