The ‘Game of Thrones’ series finale may have aired over a month ago but talks surrounding the fantasy show haven’t seemed to have died down just yet. After all, fans had to wait for years (and some book fans even decades) to see the conclusion of the George R. R. Martin’s epic saga.
Even the show’s cast members are just finding out about alleged hidden ‘clues’ hinting at the ‘Game of Thrones’ endgame that were present early on in the show. For one, Sansa Stark actress, Sophie Turner, just learned that there were some major spoilers present in one of the show’s posters.
Season One Poster
While promoting her new film, ‘Dark Phoenix‘, Turner was asked whether there were any hints about her character’s fate that viewers may have missed on the show. The 23-year-old star hesitated at first saying that she hasn’t really ‘looked far back enough’ yet.
However, she did mention that Sansa has made her dream to be queen right from the get-go in ‘Game of Thrones’ ‘ first episode. That’s when her Jessica Chastain, who co-star’s with Turner in the latest X-Men installation, dropped some major Thrones foreshadowing on the British actress.
As Chastain explained, the show’s season one poster features Sansa’s father Ned Stark sitting on the Iron Throne. And right beside him, perched on one of the sword hilts is a raven. For people who haven’t watched the show, the raven is a symbol associated with the character Bran Stark, who ended up sitting on the throne as king in the finale.
No Spoilers
The actress seemed astounded about what Chastain told her despite having played such an important character in the show. Quickly calming her astonishment, Turner then jokingly told Chastain and the interviewer that they couldn’t talk about it. Perhaps as not to spoil anything for people who haven’t watched the show yet.
Turner, who’s now playing another iconic redhead character as Jean Grey, is no stranger to spoilers. She’s been accused of spoiling a part of the show’s ending after she got the Stark house direwolf tattooed on herself along with the phrase ‘The pack survives’ written below it.
However, she denied speculations surrounding the tattoo saying that she got it because the phrase also happens to be a moral she lives by.
What Really Happened
But judging from how the show really ended, the fans were kind of right to think that Turner’s tattoo was a spoiler. In the end, the Stark siblings all had happy endings even for ‘Game of Thrones’ standards.
Jon Snow is living out the rest of his life Beyond the Wall with his wildling friends. Arya Stark is on an adventure to see what’s ‘west of Westeros’. And both Sansa and Bran Stark ended up as rulings monarchs. The pack indeed survived…
