Lindsay Lohan was once one of Hollywood’s most promising young actresses. But after falling from grace at the height of her career, it seems like the talented redhead is finding it hard to revive her glow in the entertainment industry.
So, it was quite a big deal when Lohan scored a reality show on MTV about her life as the proprietor of a beach resort in Mykonos, Greece. Unfortunately, the 33-year-old actress just reportedly lost the show as well as her business.
Not Renewed
‘Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club‘ premiered its first season in January and aired its final episode in March. The views were reportedly okay at first despite the poor reviews it got. However, audiences eventually lost interest and that’s when the viewership dipped and MTV axed the show.
According to Page Six, ‘Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club’ was actually up for another season but the idea didn’t materialize.
Apparently, the second season would have shifted focus on Lohan as well as her mother Dina and her sister Ali, as the producers wanted to make the show more exciting. A source told Page Six that producers said that there wasn’t enough drama and that they wanted ‘breakdowns’.
Meanwhile, there are hearsays that the show may still be saved. But it isn’t sure yet whether Lohan will be returning to appear on it.
Closing Shop
Aside from losing her show, the actress is also reportedly losing her Mykonos business. As Page Six reports, a source told the publication that reservations at the club can no longer be made as the place won’t be staying open for the season. Meanwhile, another source says that Lohan’s name has also been stripped off the club’s sign.
The actress initially owned three clubs in Greece with the other two opening shop in Athens and one in Rhodes. The MTV show, however, was exclusively filmed at the Mykonos location.
Firing Back
On the other hand, Lohan chose to fire back against the Page Six report on the closure of her business. In a now-deleted Instagram post, the actress implied that the publication’s story isn’t true and said that they should write stories about something ‘real’ instead. She posted the message along with a picture of four unnamed children. In the end, Page Six stood by their original report.
Meanwhile, there were also rumors about a possible reboot of the reality show ‘The Simple Life’ starring Paris Hilton and Lohan. Initially airing from 2003 to 2007, the lifestyle swap show originally featured Hilton with her then-BFF Nicole Richie. The rumors, which apparently began via tweets made by a Twitter account bearing the name of the show, were shut down by Lohan’s representatives though.
