Gaines Baby No. 5
Earlier this year, the former reality star couple Chip and Joanna Gaines announced that they were expecting their fifth baby and was due this June. In an interview with People magazine, Joanna actually revealed that she was incredibly surprised when she found out she is expecting.
She even mentioned how she felt emotional and crazy. The cookbook author also shared how she revealed the news to her husband, Joanna explained that at that time when she saw the results, she immediately called chip and told him they’re pregnant and her husband couldn’t contain the excitement.
They were both very thrilled with the news of having a new baby in the family. This was the first time she became pregnant again after eight years after giving birth to a fourth child, 7-year-old Emmie. The 40-year-old now mom of five said that she always joke with her friends about being pregnant for the fifth time definitely made her feel as if it was her first time again since it has been a while.
The couple revealed that they were having a boy and Joanna states how ecstatic her four elder kids were when they found out. Her first four children were really close in age that none of them actually remember that much of their mother being pregnant. However, her pregnancy journey for the fifth time around was the same and different at the same time because of the gap, but nonetheless, everyone was excited about the new addition to the family.
Chip and Joanna already have four kids before this new baby, Duke who is 9, Drake who is 12, Ella who is 11 and Emmie who is 8. Before giving birth, the Gaineses revealed in an interview with People magazine what kind of parenting they do with their children especially when they were younger. Joanna said that her husband has always been the swaddler.
However, since it has been more than eight years since they had a baby, they admitted that their skills may be a little rusty. The 43-year-old head of the Gaines family said that they need to work on their diaper changing skills.
On the 23rd of June, the all new addition to the Gaines family finally arrived. It was announced by Chip via Twitter by posting how they feel blessed with having another child together with his older children. He also mentioned that his wife is doing great as well. It was in January when Chip posted a photo together with his wife on Instagram revealing that they will be a family of seven soon, and they are now indeed.
The new baby’s name actually broke tradition since he is the only son whose name does not begin with a D, instead, he is named Crew. According to Nameberry, it is actually known to be an unusual name and was a bit popular as a girl’s name last year.
Fixer Upper No More
Last April, the final episode of Fixer Upper premiered. One of the main reasons why they decided to end the show is because they want to focus more on their family. Chip admitted that it is becoming hard for them and with the new baby it will be even male difficult being a parent to five children who are all in different ages.
He along with his wife decided that their business may be growing but their family is too and family must always come first. Juggling their parenting, marriage, business, and television show was getting overwhelming that they had to let go some of them and focus on what is the most important thing for this, and that is family.

Their business, Magnolia Market, which is a home-improvement hub was created because of their show, which lasted for so many years. The couple said that their leftover time will be on the business after their family and not the other way round.
