Congratulations are in order. Wrestler turned actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson just got hitched to his longtime partner Lauren Hashian. This is the beautiful destination they chose for their nuptials.
Surprise Wedding
The 47-year-old actor, still riding the high of his recent blockbuster film ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw‘, just announced his marriage on Instagram last Sunday, August 18th. In the post, Johnson shared two photos of him and his glowing bride all smiles with an ocean sunset in the background. He captioned the post with the words Hawaii and Pomaika’i, which means blessed.
The bride was seen wearing a white wedding gown with a plunging neckline and delicate lace elements while the groom sported an all-white, beachy ensemble and wore a necklace of Hawaiian flowers which also featured on Hashian’s bouquet.
As expected, the couple’s special moment was met with tons of positivity. As of latest, the post has garnered over 13 million likes with Johnson’s fellow celebrities like comedian Kevin Hart and football star Tom Brady expressing their happiness for the newlyweds.
Simone Johnson, the actor’s 18-year-old daughter with the ex-wife and now business partner Dany Garcia, also commented to congratulate her father and tell him she’s proud of him.
Long Time Coming
The couple has been together for about 12 years before they finally decided to tie the knot. In fact, they’re also parents to two children: Jasmine, who was born in 2015 and Tiana Gia, born just last year.
They first met each other on the of the 2006 film ‘The Game Plan’. It’s worth noting though that they didn’t officially begin dating until months later when Johnson separated from his first wife.
Despite being together for so long, the couple wasn’t really in a rush to marry. Just last year, the actor said that ‘marriage labels’ didn’t really matter much to him and that he was already referring to Hashian as his wife.
The 34-year-old singer is the daughter of Sib Hashian, a musician who played drums for the successful American rock band Boston.
Good Terms
While they’ve been separated for over a decade now, Johnson and his ex-wife Garcia remain to be friends and business partners to this day doing good on their promise that their divorce was amicable. In fact, she reportedly still manages the former wrestler’s acting career.
They’re also the co-founders of a multi-million dollar production company, Seven Bucks Productions, which includes big films like ‘Baywatch’ and ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ to its credits. She also founded ‘The Garcia Companies’ and represents bankable actors such as ‘Man of Steel’ actor Henry Cavill and ‘Luther’ star Idris Elba.
Garcia is currently married to Dave Rienzi, a bodybuilder who is reportedly also Johnson’s trainer. The two married back in 2014.
