Jelly Devote, a fitness influencer shared a before-and-after transformation of her body on Instagram. In that post, she compared seven years when she was fully focused on going out and consume alcohol. While pointing to those days, she said that she hated herself. And was very upset due to that much consumption of alcohol.
Nowadays she is very happy as she is taking water and protein shakes instead of alcohol and the main reason for being happy is that she weighs less. In an Instagram post, she said that she never felt so happy before in her life. The influencer further said that there is a balance in her diet as she eats doughnuts followed by a salad. She further said that she didn’t drink alcohol now and water has replaced the alcohol and now the good thing is she started loving herself again. She knows that she has lost weight now but she didn’t weigh herself when she was 20.
Devote knows that changing her lifestyle has helped her a lot in losing weight and now she feels stronger than ever. In the same Instagram post, she said that she is feeling balanced since the crazy party nights.
Devote further said that party life isn’t for her. There is no surprise that she is feeling much better with a very little booze in her diet. Cutting down on alcohol helps you sleep better, and avoids many skin problems. One glass of beer has 150 calories in it and cutting down alcohol means that you are getting fewer calories and this way you help yourself getting fit.
She said that she started loving herself again as she replaced alcohol with water protein shakes.
There are many people who can’t stop themselves from drinking and at the same time don’t want to be overweight. Health experts also have recommendations for such people. There are many days when there is nothing better than a glass of wine or even more but doing so allows extra calories to enter in the body and make people get weight.
According to Pamela M. Peeke, a medical expert, alcohol temporarily stops the fat burning process in the body. The reason behind this is that body can’t store calories as it does after eating food. So when alcohol enters the body, the metabolism system stops working to get rid of the booze.
The metabolism system pauses when it encounters with alcohol and it stops burning the food calories as well, explains Dr. Peeke. At that time, alcohol asks metabolism system to break me down first and in the process all the calories store as a fat in the body. According to a research, alcohol stops belly fat burning, and what can be worse than that? Therefore it is necessary to take alcohol in balanced proportion.
According to a study of International Journal of Obesity, women who drink moderately (one glass per day) are less likely to get the weight as compared to those who didn’t drink at all or those who drink excessively.
According to MD Professor JoAnn Manson, those who drink moderately are tend to be more active than the others. So if you can’t keep yourself away from the alcohol, keep in mind the following tips:
Eat When You Drink:
According to Harvard research, it is important to eat right then to eat less. Eating less to make room for alcohol will do no good to the body. One can reduce the effect of alcohol by eating foods which are rich in energy. Before drinking, have your dinner with protein and fiber-rich food items.
Drink Not More Than A Glass Or Two:
Drinking one drink a day is a widely accepted definition for moderate drinking. But skipping the whole week and then have seven at a single night is the worst thing one can do with the body. Drinking 3 or 4 one night has worse effects than drinking one per night.
Jelly Devote was doing the same when she was partying in Bali a few years back. But she decided to cut down her fats and one thing she did consistently is cut down on her alcohol consumption.
