Pop singer Taylor Swift has sure come a long way since her days as a wide-eyed, young country singer. The certified hitmaker has managed to stay relevant over the years putting out successful album after another.
And now, the 29-year-old musician has achieved a new milestone in her career after being declared as the world’s highest-paid celebrity in the past 12 months. According to Forbes, Swift earned $185 million.

Lucrative Tours
A bulk of Swift’s earnings is attributed to her successful musical tours. In fact, her Reputation Stadium Tour even broke records to become the highest-grossing tour earning $266.1 million domestically. But factoring in the sales from the international leg of the tour, the total comes to $345 million.
And these high numbers are consistent looking back on her other previous tours. For, example, her first Fearless tour raked in $75 million. Her ticket sales for each following one increased as her star power and popularity grew over the years. Her earnings from The 1989 World Tour back in 2016 actually catapulted her on top of that year’s top-earning celebrity as well. At the time, she reportedly earned $170 million.
Of course, her recent earnings don’t solely come from touring. According to IB Times, she also made big bucks through music sales, merchandise and endorsement deals.
As of latest, Swift’s net worth is estimated to be around $360 million. And this number is certainly about to get bigger as she prepares to release her new album, ‘Lover’ in August.
Spending Habits
So, how does the young star spend her hard-earned millions?
Swift has long been known to treat her fans well. Throughout the course of her career, news of the star lending a helping hand in the form of monetary support for her fans have surfaced every now and again. She’s also hosted quite a number of secret listening parties for Swifties in her own home before.
Aside from giving back to fans, Swift has also donated money to various causes and even raised money for victims of various calamities like the Louisiana and Nashville floods. Her most recent charitable act is the donation of $113,000 to the Tennessee Equality Project, a pro-LGBT group.
Not to mention, Swift gave a generous amount of $250,000 towards her fellow pop singer Kesha‘s legal fees during her battle against her former producer Dr. Luke.
While Swift is definitely a generous person, she also likes spending money on herself. Splurging on various real estate properties over the years, she’s managed to put together an impressive $84 million portfolio. She currently owns eight properties all over the United States.
There’s her New York City penthouse which reportedly costs $20 million and is located in the city’s affluent Tribeca neighborhood. She also owns a townhouse and a condominium in the same city. On the West Coast, the singer keeps a home in Beverly Hills valued at $29 million.
