2019 is really shaping up to be quite a good year for award-winning actress Anne Hathaway. With a slew of new movies set to come out and announced this year like the crime comedy movie ‘The Hustle’ and the drama thriller film ‘Serenity‘, it seems like nothing can slow down the 36-year-old movie star.
But all of her recent achievements seem more impressive after knowing her latest announcement regarding her growing family.
New Addition to the Family
Surprising her almost 15 million followers on Instagram, Hathaway revealed that she is currently pregnant with her second child. The actress broke the news by posting a picture of her growing baby bump which she captioned: ‘It’s not for a movie … #2’.
While her post was humorous, she also touched on the sensitive subject of fertility struggles among couples. Saying that her and husband Adam Shulman’s journey to conceive their son and baby number two wasn’t exactly easy, Hathaway sent ‘extra love’ out to people who may be currently going through the same thing.
Recalling her first pregnancy, Hathaway also talked about becoming a ‘decent liar’ during her wait for her son Jonathan in an interview on The Late Late Show. Apparently, she thought people were being too inquisitive about her pregnancy that she just nonchalantly gave them incorrect information regarding her due date and the gender of her baby.
Hathaway has also previously expressed her desire to have more kids back in 2017 but was just waiting until her son was older before trying again. Her son, Jonathan, is now three years old.
Mommy Guilt
The soon-to-be mother of two has been noted to share her experiences with being a mother and dealing with ‘mommy guilt’ before.
She once revealed to Shape magazine that she used to think that she should be busy 24/7 as she felt like she was wasting her time if she’s not. But that changed when her son arrived and Hathaway began taking breaks in her year from work to be with Jonathan.
In the end, the actress said she ended up having more time to do things that matter to her from reading more, cooking more to communicating more.
Giving Up Drinking
Another lifestyle adjustment that the actress made for her son was giving up drinking alcohol.
Speaking with comedian and host Ellen DeGeneres on a recent guesting, Hathaway revealed that she’s swearing off drinking until Jonathan turns 18 and is no longer living in her house.
What more, she says that she doesn’t really ‘love’ the way that she drinks and that her son is now needing her more in the mornings.
However, she emphasized in another interview that her choice was more because of the feeling she gets after drinking as opposed to a morally-driven one adding that her last hangover actually lasted for five days.
