It was last April when one of Hollywood’s power couple shocked the world with their announcement that they are separating. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, who had been married for about nine years, decided to go on their separate ways.
They officially announced their separation with a joint statement that was posted on their social media pages. Channing and Jenna met on the set of their movie “Step Up” in 2006 and tied the knot in 2009.
The rumors about their separation started buzzing around when Jenna attended the Vanity Fair Oscar’s after-party this year without her husband. In an interview, she simply said that he was on daddy duty and that she is taking the time off.
In February, Jenna dropped some more hints about their relationship not being strong, she was featured as the cover of Health magazine at that time and she mentioned how people think that they have a perfect marriage.
Some sources say that the main reason for their breakup is not having enough time for each other and as a family. Channing has been so busy with his own projects that he is almost never home, and so Jenna would always be with their daughter Everly, juggling her profession and personal life. However, after the split, things seem to go well and everyone seems to be adapting, and they are even spotted co-parenting their kids.
Post-Separation
A few months after their announcement that they are separating. Channing has been keeping it low and some sources say that he definitely misses Jenna. His ex-wife, on the other hand, has been very open about her moving on. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Jenna kept it real when it comes to being a single parent.
The World of Dance host said that she is definitely adjusting to her “new normal” lifestyle. She even said that both her and Channing are trying to get used it thin, but they are definitely doing it with a positive attitude just so they could be the best parents they can be for their daughter.
This newly single mom said that she is one focusing on her career as being a part of the World of Dance and also managing her production company Everheart. She set the record straight when asked if she is happy with her freedom and she admitted that what she is doing now has nothing to do with her failed marriage and separation, that is because she has always been a happy wife.
Jenna explained that this is what she wanted to do with her life. When she got separated, she admitted that she was kind of lost but found her way back immediately when she realized that she wanted to do great things.
Things that would excite her and would influence the world. She wants to expand her life by doing the things she has always wanted to do and she would enjoy every step of the way. When asked about what her daughter is like, she revealed that little Everly is just like a mirror of her mom.
Jenna is even inspired by her daughter to do great things since she knows one day Everly would do great things as well and if she doesn’t, Jenna would consider herself as a failure as a mom.
Reunited For Everly
The couple was seen managing co-parenting really well when they were spotted by some sources one they when they were taking their daughter to class for her graduation. The newly split couple weren’t seen together but was apparently there at the same time.
They were both photographed entering the building but obviously not together. Jenna posted a story on Instagram wherein it says “Graduation Day” so obviously it was all for their dear daughter Everly finishing pre-kindergarten. It was shown on the Instagram story that Everly’s favorite color is purple and that she wants to be a ballerina when she grows up, which is not surprising at all since her parents are both very good dancers anyways.
The 5-year-old rarely makes a public appearance, since her parents make sure that she doesn’t get publicized much. In fact, her last one was at Kid’s Choice Awards this year, wherein she and her mom went to see her dad perform live.
