Colin Kaepernick: Activist & Former NFL Player – $20 Million
During a 49ers preseason game in 2016, former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand when the US national anthem was played. He said that it was a protest against racist acts taking place in America. It could be why he’s not earning as much in 2019 as he used to. Colin became a free agent at the start of the 2017 playing season and has since claimed that the NFL hasn’t employed him because of his activist actions in 2016. But he’s still worth about $20 million in 2019. Harvard University thought highly enough of him to award him its W.E.B. Du Bois medal in 2018.
